Group show "Quand les pierres prendront feu"  FR/ENG

Quel homme pourra respirer sur cette terre quand les pierres, n'importe où, par malice, sans règle ni tenue, prendront feu ? La Horde du Contrevent, Alain Damasio
The stones that, in a great fall, were submerged now burn under the sun, and the skin of those who tread upon them tears from their sudden roughness, from this newfound boiling heat.

“Stones of hunger” — or of the end?

One might think, even within a chaotic natural system, that nothing appears without reason; and the inevitability of these forgotten stones resurfaces all the more forcefully as they become symbols, imago, of the fall to come, of the impending loss. So, how can we render this tangible? What images, what narratives would be compelling enough to capture the emotions stirred by the upheavals of our environment?

The artists in this collective exhibition evoke, introduce, and intertwine notions such as desiccation, sedimentation, the depletion of natural resources, cycles, and changes in physical states. They reveal ruins which, through projections and intuition, dangerously become artifacts of a potential future. Confronting representations and narratives that are losing their power, they strive to create enigmatic new paradigms.
